B is for Beloved Books
Thursday, February 2, 2012
On Day Two of Souvenir Foto School. I know that I've photographed these books sometime in the past, but I wanted to share them again because I really love them. The stack is definitely missing my most favorite, the Ramona Quimby series by Beverly Cleary, but I didn't have time to get them together. For the senses, these definitely touch on the sense of smell. That old library book scent is always cozy to me. A rainy day with a good book and an afternoon snack is one of my most cherished pastimes. The other sense would be touch with book creases and rips as I turn the pages. Sight with the yellowing paper and lovely illustrations. I love that I get to read with my boys and that they enjoy the same stories that I have loved as a kid. We are currently reading Ramona and Her Father. It's precious to see how they can relate to the same emotions that Ramona feels, and that I also felt at age 7. Re-reading these stories helps me to remember and to understand.

Beautiful! Some of the dearest memories for me of my son's childhood is quiet moments snugggling on the couch as I read to him, and later, as he grew older, when he read to me. :)
